warning lights

Hi All.

can anybody help ive just been driving my Aircooled 2lt on the a59(not important) when all warning lights came on.

Stoped at nearest pull in,engine off checked basics,all appears well, also rested her for a while,then set off again intermittent warning lights on & off,returned home all well, checked her again.disconnected batteries,then reconnected,Leasure battery left unconected no lights on drove her again for 20miles no warning lights reconnected L battery,lights again intermitent..Why ??? & is this serious.Over...

When you say 'all warning lights' do you every one of them? ie. Charging light, oil light, main beam, indicator, hazard etc.?
If it was then you have a problem!

Hi Campervan.

Lights. oil & charge flickering increased speed prevented this.she did then drive another 70 miles back no difficulty with power,just appears to be when L Battery is connected ???

Strange one but I would check the charge in both batteries when seperated (if you don't have automatic split charge) and check the voltage when charging as well. Could be the alternators brushes or regulator starting to play up but not sure why it should affect the oil warning light.
It's an electrical problem anyway so I wouldn't be too concerned that you engines about to explode into tiny pieces! But it would be good to find the problem.
Post up the results of the voltage checks and something obvious may pop up from them.

2 batteries are automatic split charged, 3rd battery runs of seperate charge. volts appear correct,it is only when the leasure battery is connected, i did wire it myself,oops, ive decided to leave L.Battery unconnected,but fully charged, have driven her again short journey but with some haste,no W.Lights on so far!

Back on the road tomorrow il let you know how it goes....& if you do think of any reason why id appreciate it.
