LDA valve on JX Engine

Post by THEESTIMATOR »

Hi - First post so please be kind

I have a 1987 1.6TD engined van and have a problem with the LDA valve fitted on the injection pump. The problem is that the vacuum pipe is not connected and I cannot find the pipe. I have had a good look and can see a vacuum pipe connected to the a unit on the turbo (waste gate?) which in turns seems to go to the inlet manifold but no pipe to lda valve. The van runs well but will really slow on a hill as I assume not enough fuel is been fed.

Can anyone help please?

There is a vacuum pipe coming from the inlet manifold but it appears to be going direct to the wastegate on the turbo - is this correct or should this pipe go to the LDA valve. If it should go to the valve then what should connect to the wastegate if anything?
