welding .. front arch and rear arch up to belt line ..

Post by xpress »

hi there. i am having a look myself, but in case i miss something, can anyone direct me to any good posts to technique for welding the front arch and the rear arch up to the belt line that i can give to the guy welding my van? i am also going to chop out and replace those rear bottom corner pieces and also the front rust trap at the bumper, any threads on that, i would be very grateful.

basically anything that will make the guy's life easier, such as advice on tacking up with seam welds and then filling up with seam sealer instead of welding all the way around?

ps pepperami's thread on cutting out and replacing around the windscreen was very good for anyone doing detailed work. cheers.

if there are any links to a procedure for making this easier, getting rid of any rust traps in the process, and keeping the seam nice and tidy then please share with me, it's being done in a couple days.
