Need some help please
Been out tonight to fill up (LPG). No problems on the way up to the station, but on the way back it starts to play up. Was like someone turning a fuel switch on and off, power then none, power then none. Thought it might have been some dodgy LPG, so switched to petrol. Ran a bit better, but felt down on power and a bit hiccupy. Only 15 miles to home, so thought I'd nurse it home. Tried switching to LPG several times on the way back, but again on/off with the power. Gets about 2 miles from home, and noticed a smoke trail out of the rear external vents. So hurriedly pulled over, grabbed the Fire extinguisher and retreated to a safe area
Couldn't see any flames at all, and was initially very concerned having full LPG tanks
Smoke from vents quickly starts to die down, so opened up the engine hatch and everything is hot. No coolant in the system at all Let it cool down for an hour or so, and then topped up the system so I can at least limp home, as it's only a mile, and half that is down hill. After about 8 litres of water, I notice that water is spilling out of the centre bottom of the radiator. Top half is clean with no evidence of leaks, but you can see coolant/water through the lower grille and in the central area. So looks likely I have a replacement rad to sort out.
Going to whip it out tomorrow after work and have a closer look.
Thanks,
Sean

Water pump failure is the only thing I can think of, but are there any other areas I need to investigate
Sean
Might be that the rad is just old and worn out they do go, dont take much 20 odd year old rad and bulid up of dirt etc then a small stone and it will soon pee out all the coolant!

Re: Blown Rad
Thanks James
Will find out when the Rad's out
Noticed that GSF list the same Rad for several models http://secure.gsfcarparts.com/shop/results.asp, but Wiki states there are two types
Anyone clarify this
