My thoughts entireley, reminds me of galaxy chocolate, looks a different colour in every picky.anyhow its been a 17 hour day, unfortunately not all spent on the van but, got the side windows fitted and beads in, took a couple of hours as they were real tight, originallt cut out and fitted by the London bus company! according to the labeling

Got the mirrors to clean up and the bumper isnt finnished yet, the rubbersa arounfd the wipers were painted white but they are in stripper and going back to black rubber.

Am fitting std lights for now

I dont have my onboard water tank underneath anymore (freezes ) but have left the hole (idleness) and will just refit the filler neck and cap, could allways make and fit an extra fuel tank, well maybe not then

So tommorow will look to fitting the leisure gas tank and filling point, plus loads of ancillary bits

Well another interesting day, bit the bullet and drove it home to finnish..first drive after all mech work,brakes etc and new (to me ) gearbox,nerve wracking but uneventfull, I will try to pick a few photos from pre work and post up alongside the finished it at least encourages me.

Well, fitting plaggy windows this morning but back to the van this aft, gave it a complete muck out and wash inside ready fo the rest of the insulation to go in, fitted the leisure gas tank and secured it .

am running the fill line back to behind the no plate, but also want to put the hook up on the flap so will have to work out the room I have as I want to still be able to have reasonable access to bits
hopefully tommorow will finnish the insulation and get some of the door cards in and ext badges fitted,
fitted the fuel filler bits, got a new surround from jk , not the best quality but does the job, had to trim it a bit (my fault) as I put rather a lot of paint on

I suppose that is the correct translation, its a bit like calling a vacuum cleaner a hoover,I grew up with DA's as in Desoutter air tools hence da has stuck

well a really nice day today,pee-ing down outside but had works door open music playing and nice clean work to do..
Lovely smelling evo spray glue!

Left this a bit short of the bottom and have sprayed it thoroughly with Teroson Terotex cavity spray (german waxoyl)
Heres a unit that I prepared earlier

gas is hard plumbed in

so real safe to turn stuff off, propex has a v/v at the unit and thermX has an inline v/v near it.
This the front now fitted

day off tomorrow going up to howarth and area, have prepped a lot of other stuff ready for wednesday,

just wanted to say thanks mick for helping me understand the way the panels are put together on these vans and it has helped me no end in sorting out my rusty seams with new panels from schofields.
it was a job i had put off for a while and your (sort of)walkthrough has put another years mot on the old bus today

i think alot more people will be prepared to take on the rusty area's after reading through this

Well 1/2 day again today, went and picked up the bumpers and door handles that I did the other day

rear was new from poclow, front needed a few dints out and holes welding up (previouse brackets) handles where stripped to bare metal and polished to remove most pitting.

self etch then 2 pack u/coat baked on then flat black followed by more 'imron' satin laquer baked on, finnish is to me the nicest bit of the whole van, a soft satin sheen ,they look gloss in the picks but really arent in the flesh

Gas tank finnished, fill line(hp) is in the ducting and any spill or whatever is vented to the outside of van

Q max cutter used to make the hole for the fille behind the no plate flap

ducting to upper heat outlet

other side of it plus the insulation to rear

water tank ready to refit

so tommorow It will be the hob and stuff to connect and loads of little bits that should see it taking shape
