Help overheating!!

Post by watson_martin »

I have an E reg T25 with a more modern 1.9 diesel engine in it. I think it is out of a caddy.

After only a few miles my temperature gauge goes right over to the right and the light comes on.

Things that I have done:

Checked the engine for signs of moisure in with the oil (None)
Checked the header tank for signs of oil/ diesel (None)
Checked that the coolant is going to the rad. (Rad hot and both pipes)
Changed the heat sensor/ transmitter
Changed the radiator switch mine is the three pin one at the bottom of the rad.
I checked the 2 stage fans go on by bye passing with a wire.
I have bled the cooling system.
I took the dash pod off and given the terminal a bit of a jiggle.
I looked at the earth points by the fuse box seem clean but gave all of them a jiggle.
The engine doesn't give off that bad cooked engine smell.

HELP!!!!!!!! :(

Thanks for that thought, have checked for leaks haven't found any, but since all the pipes get hot would that mean that a block is probably not on the cards either?

If it is electrical then that is a bit of a black art to me.
