Re: brake piston wind back tool?
no, not like the rear calipers that have hand brake mechanism attached. Just use a G clamp prerssing the piston against the old pad. There are lots of improvised tools you can use to push the piston back but take it steady and keep the pressure even so piston goes in square. You may also want to open bleed nipple. some people do, some don't neither right or wrong just helps.
Re: brake piston wind back tool?
as above.i use a g clamp.the screw in bit goes inside the piston.this applies equal pressure.i also undo the reservoir cap.

Re: brake piston wind back tool?
Ner....like anything, proper dedicated tools like this cost big bucks so the choice is proper tool £70-£100? or a G clamp from Wilko's £5.99?
Blooming brilliant tool tho, pushes the pistons back nice and square without any problems unlike a G clamp lol.
I only got my hands on it because some heavy handed spanner snapped one of the jaws and the boss ordered a new one, I V grooved and double welded the jaw back in place (you can probably see the weld on the pic) strong as new.

Re: brake piston wind back tool?
Right tool pays off when piston is seized although if its really bad I get a section of flat bar across the piston and wind up two clamps. That usually does it.

Re: brake piston wind back tool?
Acess mainly Rob and the foot of the G clamp not able (because of it's shape) to got into the middle of the pistion so you end up clamping on the edge which forces it side ways and jams. So you unclamp and go for the opposite side, back and forth.
I'm suprised you haven't had this happen?
