No idea what model the fridge is but to light it should work like this:

1) ensure gas supply to the fridge is open (at the bottle and and the stop "cock")
2) turn gas knob on full (in your case 3)
3) flick the red switch to 1, now you should hear the klick, klick noise of the electronic ignition and the red light might also flicker
4) press and hold the square button on the left until the klicking stops/ the light goes off
job done

Thanks for your reply. Only problem is that the square button on the left isn't actually a button but a small kind of flap thing that you pull down, I presumed that I would look through this and see a pilot light but cant actually see very much except the floor of the camper! Also the red switch doesnt light up or seem to click in anyway - very confused :?

Looks like Electrolux rm122 fridge, but I haven't got one so could be wrong. Sounds like your electronic ignition aint working.

The fact the red switch doesn't flash and click means either the 12v supply to it is off or it's knackered. The flip down flap is so you can look through to check the gas is lit - the flame will appear at the very back of the fridge on the left hand side - it's only small, don't expect it to fire up like a domestic boiler.

You not only have to turn the gas knob, but also have to keep it pressed in until the gas is lit. Once lit, you have to keep the knob pressed in until the thermocouple heats up enough to hold the gas valve open allowing you to release the knob.

Dunno what model but it's the same as the one in my dad's '81 camper except that where the electronic ignitor is on yours there was a push button piezo style ignitor.

Ahhh ...I thought that square "button" looked a bit strange

As for the ignition not working, it could simply be that it's voltage source (most likely the leisure battery, if you have one) is a bit low. I used to have one like that that was a bit temperamental and only worked when the leisure batt was charged to the brim.

Other than that you'll have to check connections, contacts and the ignition unit itself, as mentioned above

That makes sense then as I think when wwe bought the camper the gut mentioned a problem with the leisure battery. I'll get it checked out.

Thanks again :ok
