fluid leak in drivers footwell

Post by stevo1980 »

Hi guys i have a drip of what i think is brake fluid just under my clutch pedal. Looked up at where its coming from and the bottom of the small cylinder is a bit oily. Also my brake warning light is on. Anyone got any ideas. Cheers Steve

sounds very much like the master cylinder is leaking.best fit a new one.you will have to remove the dash binnacle and clocks to do this.the warning light will be because the fluid level is low..

Just checked the fluid level. A ok and i disconnected the connector for the warning light, fitted it back on and the light has gone. Will get a new bit. Is it easy to fit.

a bit of a pain to fit.imo.its having to bleed the system afterwards, thats worse.a good excuse to renew the fluid though.
