Goodluck with that mate, its not to hard to do just getting it into the windows curves is a bit fiddly. I used 7x 2 mtrs so 14m2 and just about had enough still got to do the battery boxes and that should be it for the linning.......fingers crossed.

Carpetting looks great. I was going to get someone to do mine but considering doing it myself now. Around the windows looks tricky as hell. Did you have to cut wedges to get the carpet into the window corners or did you manage without. Any close up pics of the window corner would be great.
Cheers

it'll be the weekend before I can get some pics up but I didn't have to cut any wedges out, I laid the carpet over the whole window frame and left it a bit baggy in the middle where the hole is. The carpet stretches and is quite pliable using a hair drier on the corners helps you manipulate it into shape, if you get more than 6m from Mark at megavanmats.com he will give you a guide on how to do it, I have never done anything like this before and if you take your time and measure everything twice you'll be fine and save alot of cash, one other tip is buy a can of solvent cleaner for the adhesive overspray as it sticks to everything. Goodluck mate

I've got mine to do over the next week so good to hear about those window corners – I've been dreading if for months! And how did you find getting the windows back in – did you go for the string in the groove technique?
It's looking good!

No, mine was a panelvan originaly so the old string method wasn't required. I read on another thread about using a bit of car shampoo in a squirty bottle to lube the window seal and the push the glass in and them add the locking strip, the sliding window went back in no problem but the glass window on the rear near side was a pig took me and my dad about an hour and a half (mainly due to my dad leaning on it before I put the locking strip back and it popped out again ) I was to tight to buy one of these :

It would have saved a lot of time and swearing I also had a suction lifter to hold the glass as your fingers get in the way when you hold it by the egdes, like this

Thanks Mark, good to know, my van is the same as yours (but not such a nice colour!) so my windows will be the same. Good advice about the suction thing, I'll get one of those. I have already invested in one of those trim tools – just need a willing mate now to come round and help, time for beer bribes again!

I got it from here http://www.fabricspray.co.uk/
It does the job very well and the results are good but there are some issues, firstly it takes 3 days to dry and cure properly and secondly the coverage is pants I used 5 cans just on the back seats (not including the cushion over the engine bay) so it can get quite expensive also if your trying to cover a dark or patterned fabric you will need loads. Saying all that the end result was pretty good and Im happy with it.

Re: Interior re-vamp 25/04/10 UPDATE!!!
Well I have got the furniture back in but the van needs a bit of a tidy up before I post some pics also I needed to do something with the captains seats as they were quite tatty and were not going to fit in with the new look. See below.
The problem is that funds are to low to have them reupholstered so I thought I'd buy some cheap seat covers for now until I have the cash to vist Wodge in Warrington.
So 30 quid later and I have a full set of covers from Hal......you know where .
They came with the rear seat covers with which my exceptionally talented Mrs turned into armrest covers, result then I came across some black headrest on fleabay and bobs your uncle new look seats 40 spondoolies all in. Hopefully these will do until OT picks up again.

Re: Interior re-vamp 15/05/10 UPDATE!!!
Great job. Did you paint the seat box and overhead locker too?
I painted ours last year and we opted for oatmeal rather than white (and the van is now green)

That Oatmeal looks pretty and good works a treat, I did the rear seat box in lino and covered the wardrobe and overhead locker in the same stuff I did the main unit, Ive had a tidy in the van so here are some pics, still a few jobs to do but the van is now usable as transport (at last).

Re: Interior re-vamp 17/08/10 UPDATE!!!
Its been awhile since I updated but work and family have slowed progress quite a bit, so interior done new control panel made and Leisure battery moved to the wardrobe with a split charge fitted.

Cheers Gary, the seats are not looking so good now thanks to a baby and a bottle of OJ but they will do until I can get them profesionally upholstered.
