hi I have a rear fog light fitted on my 86 westy to UK requirement which used to work. I have had the dashboard out to do another job and had to unplug all the wires to do it.When plugging all the wires back in I think I have put the wires back wrong and in doing so may have blown a fuse (WOULD IT BE FUSED?) is my question or have I just got the three wires wrong way round, I have tried them in about every different orientation possible.
Thanks

Since it'll have been fitted by whoever imported it, it's anybody's guess as to how it's wired.
I'd presume that the three wires are a live feed (should only be live when the lights are on), a wire out to the lamp itself, and probably an earth for the switch illumination. Two minutes with a multimeter should identify the first two, and you can then put the feed straight to the lamp to make sure that works.
And, yes, it should be fused... Whether it has been or not is another question... <grin>

And wires soldered directly to the 21watt bulb no doubt...like mine was.

I have long since ceased to be surprised by some of the electrical bodgery that gets inflicted on poor, unsuspecting vehicles.
<warning - serious digression beyond this point>
You'd think the bodgemonkeys would be more careful with 240v, though, wouldn't you? When we moved into this house, there was a "summerhouse" at the end of the garden. With sockets in it. When we demolished what was left of it, we found that the ring main started and finished with a plug. Which was plugged into a socket. Which was on the end of some of that thing, gold varnished twisted-pair lamp flex. On the other end of that was a plug. Which was plugged into one of those old-styley three-way granny-burner socket extender thingy. The pins of which were drilled and bolted to the wire coming from the house. Which ran through a rubber hosepipe built into a poured concrete retaining wall. Oh, and the whole sorry plug-socket-plug-bolts mess was carefully "insulated" in... a thick ball of live ivy.
Fortunately, the house end of that sorry mess had long since been disconnected...

When we moved into our house, i fitted a central heating system. In the walls in each room i found live cables for old night storage heaters, still attached to the economy seven meter. become 'live' every night

Time is a drug. Too much of it kills you

it takes 10 mins to fit a rhd rear lamp loom and mod the bulb holders to work as uk spec!
the amount of rear lamp looms that are binned by breakers!
