JX to AAZ, AAZ fuel pump & elecs

I'm fitting an AAZ 1.9td engine to my Magnum. The AAZ is from a Passat. The fuel pump on the AAZ has a black box with 2 wires hanging out of it. What do these do? Do I need them? The fuel pump on the JX doesn't seem to have any of this. Thanks Vandad.
