2.1 Starter Woes

Post by slobbo »

I am after a supplier/part. I have a 2.9 VR6 in my Syncro and have just had the gearbox rebuilt by Aidan. In the process he has freed up the difflock pin which means I now have a working difflock or should have. The problem is that the difflock pin is of the short variety but the bracket which holds the diff lock actuator in place is off the long variety. This means the pin isn't fully engaging. The reason for the long bracket is a standard 2.1 starter is slightly too long and fouls the actuator. So I need to find a starter suitable for a 2.1 which is about 10mm shorter than standard.

It needs to be at most 135mm from the gearbox side of the flange to the back of the casing.

Any ideas?
Cheers
Rob.
