Drop Link snapped

Post by robobobo »

Hi Syncroxperts,
After going over a bump in my Goldy syncro a bit faster than my rusty drop links could handle one has snapped and both would appear to be a little bent .

On the 14" would these be the same as on a standard 2wd ? They seem pretty pricey so was wondering about fixing them up and just replacing the rubbers. Anyone know a good source for new, my van's making weird noises ! If i go down the fixing route, are they straight as a dye or supposed to have a slight bend ( i doubt it but worth the ask ) Blowtorch and a vice or anyone got any clever suggestions :ok

cheers and thanks

There's 2 different drop links, early & late. The early ones are the same on both sides, the later ones are handed (or is that the other way round  )

You've just reminded me I need a pair and a set of bushes, one of mine went so I took the whole ARB off about a month ago. Baxter does them about £55 per side plus a bit more for the bushes. I guess any second hand ones will have had as much use as the ones that have broken now, so will be false economy.
What a long strange trip it's been

So looking at tristars pics the bend is manufactured. I'm sure i can refurb these if that's the case, look's like it's snapped at a weak point at the base where it attaches to the plate. I'll get it off and investigate but certainly new rubbers all round.
Thanks guys :ok
