Couple of problems

Post by el sketcho »

Got back from the big chill yesterday. On the drive back the oil light would flash when I lifted off the throttle after cruising along at about 60mph. I got out and checked the oil and it was ok, so I don't really understand why that was happening. When I got home parked the van up to unload it and I noticed a some oil was dripping from the bottom of the engine. Anyone got any ideas on what could be causing this and would I be able to fix the problems?
One last one, a while back people were talking about audi window winders. What audi are they off? Need to get a new winder as Mrs El Sketcho broke the drivers one then put in back on just being held by the plastic, just so I thought I'd broken it.

Can't help with the oil issue I'm afraid, but I do have a spare pair of audi window winders (black plastic with chrome edges) If you're interested?

Check the oil pressure sender itself, it could be loose and leaking oil or it could be leaking oil through the top of the switch itself and mucking up the accuracy.

Where abouts is that on a 1.7d? Would it just be an unbolt and replace with new one or would I have to drain the oil?
