I've pondered this myself. Prior to buying my panel I thought there would be dozens of companies around fitting windows (as with T4s etc) but seems not to be the case. In fact I found a total of none via Google!

As I understand it, to fit Caravelle windows, a certain amount of welding is required, though I'm not sure specifically what.

To fit Caravelle windows you need to weld in the relevant Caravelle panel. It can be been done though and I'm sure I've seen it covered on here fairly recently. I'm pretty sure you can't fit them to a panel without body mods.

Lots of UK conversions were based on panel vans rather than Kombis, so have a look round at anyone breaking a van maybe or stick up a "wanted" ad.
What a long strange trip it's been

So the sliding door and opposite panel are different from a caravelle and a panelvan ?

We have an autohomes komet with bad rot around the rear windows. The o/s needs patching and I have found a whole new panel for the n/s as the damage is extensive.

I have read comments about people welding in caravelle window frames/panels... would this be an easier alternative? Where would I find the requisite panels?

AH schofield sell panels as do a few others.
but it's far easier to ask a t25 breaker (billy 739, spannerboy) to gas axe you a suitable section out for welding in.

A belated thanks for your comment.
Well its been a while but its all in place now. I got a panel from Mick up at Mere Brow and all the welding and prep is done (infact as its the back o/s panel/window we have decided to leave the window out as its mostly covered by the cupboard)
Hopefully she is going for a full respray next week and then its time to put the glass back in.
Does anybody recommend an auto glazier around south manchester to refit all the glass. I have new seals all round.
Cheers.
