hi really need some help with this one i have noticed a rattle type noise coming from my engine it seems more noticable when warm or at high revs :?:

Would probably help if you could get some kinda video up mate. Could be a number of things!

Old school method is to get a length of hose pipe, two or three feet long, and warm the engine.
Insert one end of the pipe into your ear and place the other end up around the engine. Go all around the engine and ancillaries and you should be able to locate exactly where the noise is coming from.

I think you'll find most engine noises follow that sort of description... best take it along to a garage./mechanic that has years of experience and also know VW aircooleds reasonably well... ask if they think anything needs doing to it... not a VW dealreship of course, ask around to find the right garage. Or try to find someone near on here who has a similar engine... ??
