Well its been a few weeks since I posted owt so here is a progress report. The bodywork is all done and the old girl looks a treat so its time to turn my attention to her mechanical maladies eg engine out and strip down, so today I oyked the motor out and tommorow I shall begin the process of stripping and cleaning it....... . . . .
Yes I did use an electric sprayer, here's what happened. I abused my other spray guns by not cleaning them thoroughly after prevoius useage and needed a new gun ( 2 pack needs an angle grinder to clean up once its set ). On a visit to my local superstore I spotted a video demonstrating the electric gun/system and watched it over and over, I firmly beleived there was no way the results could be that good..... . . could they?
Well I bought one as they were on special offer and I have been amazed with how well they spray. Its also HVLP so less material waste or overspray, I can recommend them
Here I am beavering away refitting the pistons unfortuanately I managed to break a piston ring which meant a wait for one week whilst JK delivered a fresh set, ordered Monday arrived Saturday....... . . not bad considering I am in South west France
Well I got the van finished and took it for its French MOT and it failed on UK spec headlights, I can still use it and take it back within 2 months for a retest of the lights only being nescessary.Got a new pair of headlamps off German e bay (35 euros) all fitted and adjusted now.
Last week we went to the south of France for a week and covered 1,001 miles of fast motorway, mountain passes and city traffic driving with no problems, heres a few pics of the trip, it made up for all that effort
well well well..............what a fantastic 10 mins I just had reading and viewing your thread tet. Bloody well done. Your an inspiration to those who've yet to find the confidence to take on the job of re doing the lot. I bet you know every sound and creak she makes. Thanks very much. How about a self fix vid for us? would be great

Feel proud fella, and from everyone at 80/90, many thanks for taking the time to post the pics and explanations. Some good fabrication skills there - very impressive and what a stunner of a van shes turned out to be.
