You might or might not... until you've had it for a while and checked it over thoroughly, you won't know for sure ( abit like any new vehicle, there ar no gaurantees and its coming up for 20 years old, and do you know its full history?)

It would be interesting to see if other owners agree that it wouldn't be a practical everyday ride.

...what sort of journey everyday? Practical, in what way, fuel consumption, space for 10 kids, high-speed motorway usage, etc. There are better choices I'd say, and many T25s are used for that, but not that many Syncros

They can be reasonably cheap to run but only if you get a good stock one and only if you only use it off road sparingly. A friend of mine has a lovely 16" Syncro and he doesn't off road it and I don't think he has spent a lot of money maintaining it. Me on the other hand have spent a fortune on mine over the years. Primarily because they are never standard and I tend to abuse them a little. Not as much as some but I do traverse the odd slippery slope and muddy field.

hehe. that's not even 'a little' abuse for a Syncro

They are known for not littering the countryside with bits that fall off like some other 4WDs, and invariably make it home after what many would say is tantamount to extreem provocation. As long as the clutch, gbox and engine are reliable, most else hangs together very well and is made to be driven off-road.

They can be driven on tracks and off-road for weeks on end... however, that said, if there's a weak point, a small thing can be a show stopper, which is true of almost any vehicle.

Mk 1 eyeball is about the the best tool for preventing that, and over-maintaining any potential problem areas .. and a good bedding in to see what throws up any problems. Ears and eyes (often someone elses) are good at spotting trouble.

No-one can give you a definitve answer, they're nearly all 20 year old now, some 25!
