hi, are all speedo cables the same or do i have to get a specific for my year/model ? gonna replace mine, jumpy speedometer !

It's a c reg 1.6 diesel rhd, does it fall into early or late category ?

I thought they jumped from new?? :cry:


Mine was replaced with a new one and it still jumped a bit upto 20mph.


Can cables be re lubed?

Mine jumps lots from new, however, it seems to settle when I'm on smooth roads (like motorway with stable speed/ no braking etc) which led me to assume that the whole cable was shaking, causing the needle bounce, at some point I will apply a few more cable ties and see if matters improve!

Take the speedo end off and run some 3-in-1 down it, as advised by an old friend a long time ago.
