How are hi-tops secured?

Post by Sagemagoo »

Silly question but how are hi tops secured onto the van roof? I'm out camping at the moment and noticed one side of my hi top has worked loose from the roof. I can't see any external fittings so am hoping there's a few lugs tucked away inside holding it all on.
Anyone conform before I put a few 2" screws through it?

if you are that worried about it get a ratchet strap over the top and on to the gutters temp to keep you safe.

Liking the ratchet strap idea. No idea what make roof, typical ice cream van - sloping front, slight drop at the rear, I'll check the rest of the roof out in the morning and make a call then.
Cheers guys

Fyi just got back and the roof stayed on - I just left it in the end, it rattled over 60mph or with a strong sidewind, now to clean out the old sealant and squirt in something new.

Gerabox was another story tho..good job I view holidays in the T25 as an adventure...
