my front tie rod has snapped where it goes through rubber bushes into chasis does anyone know where i can replace it just campers dont stock them the other side went 6 months ago but managed to find garage with one spare is it a common problem also what is the correct procedure for set up thanks

tie rod is the one on the end of the steering rack

you need to know year of manufacture and 2wd or 4wd and which side

If it's a late one, we have had them remanufactured.
I have a couple out in the wild at the moment on long term test, once I'm happy them will be on sale.
Cost - probably about half what VW charged.

its a 1990 2wd nearside i had offside replaced 6 months ago and it has worn inside of tyre guy from garage said he measured from broken one checked tracking and camber i replaced tyre and still wearing out again when i spoke with him he dosent seem to know why. isthere a correct procedure for setting up once replaced thats if i can source one im in north west will try mick from vw nw in morning thanks
