I have never had a t25 before, but am very interested in this one, can someone tell me if it is a good van or not. I only want it for holidays with my son but my husband needs it for an everyday car, so 4WD will be valuable. It says the difflocks need overhauling - is this expensive?

If you want a Syncro as a daily driver, then be prepaired for high running costs as these babies suck up funds like there is no tomorrow! It really helps to be a very keen diy mechanic, as there will always be one job or another to keep you busy. Syncro parts are expensive and many are now obsolete. I am not trying to put a downer on your potential purchase, rather giving an honest account of Syncro ownership. I am on my fith one now and rarely a week goes by without some necessary tinkering!

Yes, because of the four wheel drive. The system tends to need parts fixing with alarming regularity. One minute it's the viscous coulping (a grand to fix) then it's the prop that needs recon, then a couple of cv's, a wheel bearing or two, the list never seems to end. ( this is my experience, which may well vary from others). Because it's 4wd, most jobs take a lot longer to do. Yesterday I fitted new shocks to the front of mine - a two hour job on a 2 wd. It took me five hours and I work on vws for a living! Ah, syncros...

Right....well whilst my husband is probably capable we have precious little time at the moment as we have a 6month old son. We want to be able to just jump in it and go off camping at the weekend ! We might need a re-think on this one.
It would be interesting to see if other owners agree that it wouldn't be a practical everyday ride.
