Will this work on my 1980 2ltr cu? it was for my 1985 1ltr polo that i scraped a few years back.Its never been used Made by siemens model number 5WK6 101. vw part number 211 905 351 E. Want to carry a spare in the van, also have a fairchild ignition module vw part number 211 905351 can they both be used?

For your purpose it would. But if it is not fitted to a heat sink it would only last a few hours. Your old one could be riveted to the heat sink making it not easily removable. If you need to fit the new one to a heat sink you will also nead to use a heat tranfer compound between the sink and module.
