HI all,
My Zig unit (Zig CF8) has a peculiar problem and wondered if anyone can help or point me in the right direction .
About a month ago arriving on site I switched to On site and switched 12v on and nothing connected to 12 volt worked. When i switched the Zig unit to touring and 12 on everything worked as it should.
So my question is, where should I start to trace what has happened and is this a common fault? Also im not confident due to this issue that when im driving that the main battery is charging the leisure battery. Is there an easy way to understand if the leisure battery is being charged whilst driving from the main battery?
I have checked all fuses and they are ok? Could it be an earth problem?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Nathan

Re: Zig Unit issue - Help.....
have you checked the in-line fuses at the leisure and starter battery aswell as the Zig fuses? Sounds like the leisure one may have gone. Do you have a separate split charge system fitted too?

Check the split charge fuses as well. If they've gone and your leisure battery is totally flat they will probably go again as soon as you start the engine. Can you charge the leisure battery with an independant source?

Hi, Well firstly a huge thanks 1664, it was indeed the fuse on the leisure battery, now changed and all working as it should.... If we ever bump into each other at a show ill be sure to buy you a pint, thats probably saved me hours of fiddling.
Ive got a trickle charge which I usually keep on the leisure battery so have just connected that up, although there was plenty of charge as its a new leisure battery...Thinking about it ...... changing the battery did coincide with the problem!
ps - where is the split charge fuse located?
Again, huge thanks, and it really is people like you that keep these great sites alive and so worthwhile.

Should be one at either end, fairly close to the batteries/relayBigcarp wrote:ps - where is the split charge fuse located?
