petrol drip heater

Post by Strongio »

Hey all. This is my first post.I bought a 1986 1.9 watercooled wasserboxer about a year ago and it has a steel box under the van with cables running to it. There is a small control panel on the dash with a control knob with a setting of 1-6 on it and an orange switch. When I purchased the van the guy vagely explained that it was a fuel fed heater for when static but being as I havent used it i'v lost the knowledge. The box has what looks like a cone shaped foam filter fixed to the steel box and a alu drain hose on another section of the box.Can any or has anyone got one of these on their van or does anyone know what this is and can anyone explain how it works...Any replies would be great...... :ok
