What is this ?????

Can you let me know what this item is - and more importantly what it acutally does (noticed that the seal is damaged)

I took it apart for the photo, but the inside of the unit is very oily.

Thats the crankcase breather canister, looks like you have an engine out of a bay window van, they where part of the crankcase casting on the CU engine

Its whole purpose in life is to catch little droplets of oil that come out of the crankcase in the breather pipes, so its supposed to be oily inside, all normal.

thanks guys, this explains why I could find no mention of it in both of my T25 manuals....
