Hi
I'm just finishing off renewing front discs & bearings and need to know how to push the round caliper piston back into the caliper so there is room for the pads against the new disc.
Btw, it's a gurling caliper.
Thanks

Re: quick answer needed
use the old pad against the piston and using a G clamp push it back by winding the clamp in.
Large pair of grips. Gently squeeze piston back.
the piston needs to pushed back in square and gently.
Plenty of other ways but depends on what tools you have to hand.

it makes it easier if you do it while the top is off the brake fluid resvoir or you connect a tube to the bleed nipple and unscrew it slightly as up push it in.
Live life with a lot of flair, alot of style. Grip it and rip it it's the way it's gotta be!

As above except some motorfactors pads are too thick out of the box and need a mm or 3 in total taking off with a coarse paper or even a fine file.

Thanks peeps - all done.
Used a g clamp and little by little it went in.
First ever mechanical fix (with some help from my great dad) so feeling rather proud.
Many thanks for everyone's help.
Now for the gearbox rebuild.
