I've come to the conclusion that no matter how much I sand and fill, sand and fill, wash down and sand.. etc etc... it still looks like a scruffy bugger!
I'll post some pics up... shortly. Having major issues getting rear bumper off.. seems welded tight (3 days to paint camper... 4 weeks to paint round bumper with modelling brush! )
The same attention to detail is required no matter whether you roller or spray but of course involves a whole host of other issues not least of which can be welding, panel repair or replacement and dealing with any rust in seams. There may also be an issue with window rubbers needing replacement. No two vehicles alike but prep is essentially about ending up with a smooth, lightly-keyed, dent-free and stable surface. We covered this too incidently, with faster ways to get an even surface and the obligitory visit from the filler fairy An ordinary electric sander used on a wetted-down vehicle will save much time but you MUST use an RCD on the power cable if going that route.

Hah.. Cov... believe me I've watched the DVD a few times now... I'm just getting jobs done whilst waiting on panel repairs etc.. Window rubbers are average.. not great but not sh*te either so I'm going to run with the majority of them. everythings stripped apart from rear bumper and window that needs frame repairs.
Has to be said the sanding I have done makes it look cleaner than it has in years
Also just took delivery of a massive bottle of vactan.. time to park it up in a disused swimming pool for a bath!
I'm having to be a little careful at the moment as I got a big gig coming up and cant afford any more finger scrapes!
dont know wether its legit or not and couldnt care less, i do what I like not whats supposed to be done. if you do fill a swim pool with vactan can I be first after you to give it a go.

Can do. Depends on brand. El-cheapo and you'll be through them in seconds. A neighbour gave me some top make ones and I've not worn the first one down yet.

I've used the 'three-for-a-pound' variety on numerous jobs and very often they'll do (if the centres don't collapse ) but its essential to be wary in case a disc breaks up. Goggles go without saying. ALDI sometimes does runs of discs and these are certainly better but I think you get what you pay for in grinding discs - they vary enormously in that respect. If you're doing a lot of grinding its often cheaper to spend more - if that makes sense.
