Looks like it was built by a blind man who had heard of "one of those Citroen beach buggy things"
Yuk. Nearly as ugly as an Iltis.

Pay no attention to SPaddy. He's always saying silly things. (Just look at the 16"alloy thread for example!)

Re: How cool............Haflinger.
Back on topic...I've watched that video clip again and realized just how small that thing is! Like a 4wd minimoke - with no rollover protection
Now this is also worrying:
Check out the jerk who runs past as it mounts the rock, then the kids who are standing right next to the wheels while parked up
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnA0sj4r ... re=related" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Whereas this really looks like fun!

(Not sure about the German Metal backing track

Haflingers predate the crappy plastic Citroen dyane based Méhari buggy though! Perhaps the Haf inspired Citroen to make the 4WD Méhari in the early 80's on the other hand? (was there an 80's model that didn't recive some form of 4WD offshoot?)
I love the basic unstyled style of the Haflinger. Its a bit like a series 1 Land-Rover in the way its that shape because its the simplest most practical way of covering whats needed and despite that it looks pritty good. In both cases when they tried to style it it didn't really gain anything/improve it, infact polycab Hafs are ugly - pallet on wheels with low top speed and a plastic cab is just too much like a milkfloat to make it credable, put credable as an off roader a proper Haf certainly is! Shame about the rust issues but then most are over 40 now.

Re: How cool............Haflinger.
Haflingers were never designed to be pretty, they were designed to do a job.
Their main job (other than military applications) was to carry milk urns or bales of hay on alpine farms on "paths" where otherwise only a real Haflinger would dare to tread.
And all that for little money and with the engine from a Fiat 500
