I have 5 litres of wax oil which could be painted on after i have removed all the mud and crap, but what would i protect the drivetrain, steering componants and susspension bits

Floor pans, suspension componants and all the rest of the gubbins are looking a bit rusty. Not reallly bad considering its 28 years old but I would like to do something so i can get another 28 years from it.
