does anyone know how to get this black rubber boot off the secondary throttle diaphgram on a pierburg? does it just lift off?
my one has split - so looking to take this one off and replace -

i've got access to a soare one - if i can work out how the old one comes off....
if its not too important - can leave the old split one on.....

I think that is the pull down unit..... it looks to me like it wont be a problem unless the split get so big it splits completely all along and the rod pulls out..... you could put a cable tie around the split end to help keep it tight.
I have never taken that unit apart so couldnt advise how to remove, it could be just a push fit, or screwed on or even pushed and glued.

That doesn't look like a boot..
It looks like a ball and socket joint, with the socket made of black plastic, in which case you pop the socket off the ball and unscrew the (split) threaded portion ??

PS. You might get away with a good degrease, superglue split + good binding of insulating tape (or a couple or three small cable ties), if you can't get a spare
