Hi,
Today my van ( scooby powered caravelle) started making quite a loud rhythmic knocking sound, I think it was from the rear. When I dipped the clutch it would stop and start again when I let the clutch out again.
We were less than half a mile from our destination, got there parked it for about half an hour, came back had a look underneath gave both drive shafts a good old shake about, couldn't see anything about to fall off so set off home, drove fine no noise or anything, completely normal.
Could there be something wrong with a CV joint or any other ideas
Thanks ..
Could it be a CV joint?

So shaking the driveshafts displaced the grease to shut them up, just for now I guess!
Thanks, I better start looking for replacements, there are under considerable load at times

It's a little 'anal' of me, but every time I have to get under the van I give the boots a squeeze

is it just a lack of grease then, or do they need replacing?

Re: Could it be a CV joint?
Its wear but often these joints will go on to do a lot more with (sorry Enid Blyton) 'lashings' of grease. If that proves useless or short-lived then replacement is only alternative

It was quite loud! I don't want it to fail and be stuck miles from nowhere, I think I'll try and decide which one it was making the noise and replace it, just to be on the safe side, Thanks..
