rear dif making funny noise
hi my rear dif is making a funny noise in 3rd and 4th gear anyone no any reasson why

Have you checked the oil?
Make sure you can undo the filler plug before the drain though(offside of gearbox about 3/4 of the way up in front of the drive shaft), this is important as if the filler wont budge and you empty your oil, you will be in doo doo.

it'll probably be asking for a rebuild, noise is gearbox's way of saying stop
check it's not the driveshafts, wheel bearings etc..to isolate the fault
changing the oil will show you the drain plug magnet and that will tell you weather it's time
