Bugger! What a pain in the a***................HELP

Post by KarlT »

Bloody hell. Been back to stripping my drive-shafts down.
Can I get the front outer one off? Can I fv#k!!! Spent hours pi$$ing about with it. I can't spred that little spring-clip & hit it at the same time.
CV looks pretty battered, like someone else had ago but gave up & just replaced the grease. Tempting but CV only wants to move in one direction.

Whats the answer?......Big hammer?.... :idea

Try spreading the clip with a small flat blade screwdriver then point it to the floor and whack it with a lump hammer

I used a tool like this last time I did CV joints, made life much simpler than having clips springing off all over the place.

Its off!! :rollin

Had to cut through cage, balls fell out, Outer case came off. Giving easier access to inner ring & clip. Scaffold bar over shaft & give it some wellie. How gay does all that sound?

Took 20 minutes, why didn't I do that the other day!!
