Hi,
Planning to head up to Germany's Mecklenburg Lake District for a week or so and was wondering if anybody had any recommendations? We fancy a few days pottering by the lakes for the kids and a bit of cycling. May fit in a trip to Berlin and/or Lubeck at either end. In particular any thoughts on where to stay would be very welcome. Thanks in anticipipation!
Mike

Camping am See Schwerin or Inselcamping Werder.
To be honest any of the campsites around the 5 lakes of Müritz, Kölpinsee, Fleesensee, Drewitzer and Plaunensee (Funfseen land).
Don't forget that if you are an angler you can get a touristlicense for 20 euros, this is the only county in Germany where you can do this.

Re: Mecklenburg Lake District Recommendations
Thanks for that. Thought we might head in via Schwerin, so will have a look at Camping am See Schwerin. Just need to try and pick up a decent map of the area so that I can pick out the campsites. My dad was cycling there a few weeks ago and recommeded Roebel, Neu Brandenburg and sandy beaches at Heringsdorf. Sadly not a fisherman so will be unable to take advantage of the €20 licences!
