wildcamping.co.uk Camber Sands

Post by ninja.turtle007 »

Has anyone with full membership tried the map POI on wildcamping .co.uk? Is it any good?

I'm looking for a wild camping spot on the south coast near Camber Sands if anyone knows of one please.

Thanks

spoke to some kitesurfing friends the other day at Camber and the car parks at the eastern end do get shut at 8pm so you could get "locked in", they open again in the morning. If you have a high top then you'll not be able to get in due to height restrictions. There are also lay-bys at that end but the road is very busy, not sure I'd feel safe overnight but have parked there during the day.

Near to Camber/Rye is a place called Pett Level, this is a very quiet road, big laybys to park in and you're sheltered from the wind if it's on shore by the massive banks. If you go to the western end, there's a good pub called Smugglers. Have a look on google street view http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sourc ... 14&iwloc=A" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
