Hello
I removed my fridge when tidying up the interior and can't remember which way it wires up for the 12v power . I did mark the terminals on the fridge itself though . So now I have green wire going to a relay in the engine bay which i have reconnected to the fridge as marked but I'm not sure if the other wire goes to the pos terminal on the batt or the neg terminal or to the chassis some where. Can anyone help I dont want to fup up me fridge.
Sorry Its the fridge, I have green wire from the terminal on top of the fridge to a relay in the engine bay.
I need to know where the other terminal on top of the fridge (which was a red wire) goes to, I remember it went through the bulk head to the main battery box, It was all removed in Febuary and I thought I'd be okay just marking the fridge terminals D'oh.
well there on my fridge and any others I have seen has a 12v pos and neg connection, the green sounds like the feed from the relay, so it should only work when the engine is running, the other should be to ground to make the circuit, unless some one had wired it to swtich the earth with the relay!!

unless some one had wired it to swtich the earth with the relay!!
thats just ace int it.
It may have gone to the neg terminal on the batt I suppose, I'll wire it to the chassis then and go for a drive and if it is the earth switching then no harm done (I hope).
take a bulb and a bit of wire ( or A MULTIMETER) and find out if the "green " wire you speak of is +12vdc or -12vdc
the relay in the engine room, where is the feed coming from?
if the wire oposite the "green" you speak of comes from the battery or alternator pos, its a live feed at the fridge.
the 12v element for the fridge is like a bulb, i dont care which round the voltage travels, its unpolarised.
you shoulda disconnected at the fridge.
yep I shoulda , a lesson learnt for next time though eh. I'll have a butchers to see where the relay is getting its feed from Im pretty sure its not the batt though as thats behind the drivers seat and theres no cables going off to the engine bay (apart from the big un).
Cheers for the tip.
