Stereo head unit

Post by Realize »

Hi

I am still trying to find a head unit that will fit flush into dashboard, I want a stereo that
will play mp3 and have an ipod connection.
Not to fussed if it has a cd as this is what makes them 2 big in the first place.

Cheers Jay

I bought a Chinese one and had no probs with it. Fits snug, has a USB input and plays DVDs. You can also put literally hundreds of MP3s on a DVD too, so much so I can drive from one end of the UK to the other without ever having to change the disc - ideal for Zappa as I can get every album he ever made on one DVD - amazing really.

Must admit though, the next move would be a 1TB hard drive tucked away and a way to run it (and for stereo to detect it) so I can choose from several thousand albums...

My sony unit fit very snugly, too snugly that it bent the aerial plug so I fitted a 15mm spacer to bring it out a little.

1TB idea would be great but for now I have 16gb on a sansa clip mp3 player that plugs into the aux on the headunit and is kept charged by the fag lighter

I bought one of these for our other car:

My local Clas Ohlson store were doing them for £35!

It is half the depth of a standard head unit, comes with SD card, USB and aux input and works very well. I've just chucked a load of music on a 4Gb SD card and leave it in there.
