Hi,
Ref 1988 Auto sleeper 1.9 DG
Trying to renew the ignition switch (white plastic bit at lower end of key barrel).
Have removed steering wheel, cowling, wiring and multi function switch.
Am I right in assuming that the steering lock housing has got to come off so that I can extract the old switch?
Have I got to go and purchase a two legged puller to remove the housing or is there another way?
Thanks
Don

Re: Ignition switch
Hi kentish van man,
there is an easier way!
Disconnect battery
steering wheel off
stalks off
black plastic surround that is on the column off (this can take some persuasion with a screw driver...)
undo the bolt that clamps the metal that holds the barrel together
key in position one in the ignition barrel
lift the entire metal work off (it won't come off until you have that black plastic tube thing off!)
turn upside down,
see a little screw....undo it, switch comes away.
Refit is the reverse.
Hope this helps

Re: Ignition switch
Thanks Em
Thought about the screwdriver for the plastic sleeve removal but thought I would ask before I chewed it up.
How did the dog training go?
