diesel timing mark on clutch

Post by soniquethedog »

hello,i have just finished a 1.6d swap for a passat 1.6td ,i have changed all the ancilleries inc the fuel pump off a jx engine,i set the timing up (mark on the fuel pump and locked off the cam) via the peep hole in the box , i presume the timing mark is the v shaped groove inbetween two other type of tabs on the clutch,i bled the fuel thru and it fired up for a split second and then cut out , there is plenty of fuel coming thru but it wont tick over once it starts does anyone know what might be wrong thanks in advance
