I can't see why there should be a problem as the charging source would be the same. A seperate split charge would allow for a greater current demand by a partially flattened leisure battery. The zig won't handle a large current and a nearly flat battery will demand a huge current once the vehicle is started, so make the split charge system err on the 'large' side current wise.
I have a Zig but have not connected it to the starter battery thereby taking the Zig out of the alternator recharge senario altogether, instead relying on a rather beefy split charge system. Or you could simply turn the Zig 'off' to disconnect it from the starter battery which will do the same thing to all intents and purposes.....
