Sliding door catch

Post by phil19gti »

I've had a search and couldn't find a comprehensive answer.

Our sliding door on our 1985 van works fine but will not stay open as the catch seems to be missing. The hook is there but there's nothing to hook to.

Can these catches be bought separately or do you have to buy a complete unit?

Thanks.

there should be a big brass like thing on the inside of the door with a slot in it and the catch is inside that, they can stick in the released position, usually easy enough to fix, if you haven't got one I have some in the lock up, lhd or rhd, I think I have both in stock
