Rear Wiper Ideas

Post by CovKid »

Has anyone found another wiper motor assembly from elsewhere in the VW or even Audi range that could be used instead of the one fitted on caravelles and the like? There must surely be someone who has hit the problem of a dead motor and found a workaround.

These motors tend to be thin on the ground and therefore price inflated even second hand and with a plethora of other motors available it must be possible to fit others - with some thought? I recall being quoted around over £100 for a beetle front wiper motor many years ago simply because the brushes had worn out and managed to find lawnmower brushes for 15p that did the job admirably.

Any ideas what other wiper assemblies might fit?

I know they appear on Ebay but thats not what I'm looking for. Even second hand ones are over-priced in my view. Renault 5 one is an idea. You'd think there were similar ones fitted to other VWs though. Just trying to open up ideas here :)

Never seen anyone raise this and theres no reason why wiperless T25s couldn't have them really.
