Anyone thinking of selling their syncro?

Hi All
I would love to buy a T25 Syncro but only have max 5k, is this a realistic price to pay for one in reasonable condition? I nearly bought Welsh Dragon's Syncro on ebay for 5k but didnt get a chance to view first. Just a van will do i'll do the camper bit myself.
Any advice welcomed

For a van/caravelle. Yes. (Try & get a caravelle, better in everyway, don't tell v-lux though!! )

Thanks for the replies, I forgot to mention I could do with a RHD model as the wife will be using it for a run around! She doesn't know thats what we're getting yet so I better not push it. I take it they are harder to get hold of? What the hell they look like a load of fun, expensive but well cool!
Just please keep me in mind when the time comes to sell.

Yeah they are alot harder to find as fewer were made etc. It will also be quite rare to get one with PAS. Good luck with your search, keep us posted bud.

My mate has a 2.1 Caravelle RHD Syncro both lockers for about that money. Here is the advert from Lothians


The wifes decided she wants to sell the Syncro, as it's just not for her and the kids. She's a bit sad as she loves it, but has her heart set on a coach built type camper, with loads of storage. We live in an upstairs flat, with no drive or garage, so it's a real pain having to load and unload the Syncro everytime we use it.
We bought the van from Syncronutz, They fitted a new viscose coupling, fixed the bit of rust at the sliding door you can see, and put it through an mot before we bought it from them. Cheers guys. Since we've had it i've tuned the engine and had a drag link manufactured for the front anti-roll bar as it had snapped(who'd of thought these were so hard to get). New brake hydraulic master cylinder fitted. We also put a new set of road going tyres (commercial rated) plus spare on the bus. We fitted a set of original German wind deflectors to the cab windows, which look much nicer than the repro jk ones. The front cab has whistle stop door seals fitted. New morrors replaced the droopy ones.
The van is generally in good condition with all it's Gl features, such as front and back diff locks, opening quarters, sliding middle, and vented rear windows, captains seats. The centre bench has been removed for camping and vinyl put down to protect the original carpet underneath. The bus has factory carpet throughout, even in the cab area.
The centre seat is in storage and will come with the bus, All rear seats have factory retracting lap belts, including the middle one
New stereo fitted, which takes sd cards, Cd's, direct jack for ipod etc , comes with remote control
Head rest Dvd player, with remote, tunes in wirelessly through stereo for sound. can be hard wired audio also with a double phono lead
The pictures on the link show all the things that need minor repair or a bit of paint, i'd rather show the worst, shes a good solid bus and almost 100% original. We had it advertised before, and in light of the wee bits needing done dropped the price a tad
There's also a cooker unit, which you can lift out, It comprises a twin burner and grill and is nothing fancy, but served the purpose of making hot Tea and cheese on toast, whilst warming the awning

99% of us don't need a syncro, its a question of wanting.

Kevin......That one in Scotland looks a good starting point. (If not too far away) Even if its just a good look over, kick the tyres & test drive. Have you driven a syncro before? Why do you want one?

I have read into the costs of owning a syncro, bl***y expensive i think i'm right in saying. I still want one though, and i bet all you guys that have one felt the same? The costs arent as bad as the depriciation on new 4x4's, had a Navara for work and it dropped 10k in a year, it was mint! Some nice Syncro's on ebay germany and not bad prices too, LHD though. Home through the Alps though, better stop dreaming!

Yeah but a 'mint Navarna' will definately get you there & do better MPG while doing it!!!
As to LHD, have alook at one of SyncroPaddy's thread "Another syncro on ebay" (I think it was that one) There are lots of views on it. Pro's & cons.

I was after a westy camper but got a bit put off with the ever increasing prices for the good examples. I stumbled on a youtube clip of a syncro and after watching a few more inc "jed the spread" thought the ability to wild camp would be spot on. The fact they are a bit different and unusual plays a part, not forgetting the forum and all the help and advice given. I dont know if all on here actually know each other but you seem like a great bunch of lads(lasses?)
