number plate lights

Post by dobbin »

hiya does anyone know whwere i can get a couple of rear number plate lights for my 87 van? Cover has been missing off one for ten years but this year it means mot failure for some reason. Though strangely they werent bothered by the missing bumper end cap this time. Its a funny old world ent it? Any help would be gratefully received. By the way Just campers dont list them. eh?? how the hell can the lens missing off the numberplate light be a fail...... someone please correct me if I am wrong..  . ( presume the light was working?

end cap missing surely is a fail/advisory as there are dangerous edges that could catch a pedestrian... or maybe thats not an issue anymore :rofl

mot guidelines changed recently adding new criteria to certain areas of the test. From memory on number plate lights you can fail them for facing away from the rear , not working, incomplete, insecure.
As for bumper corners its an advise as you can only fail sharp edges caused by damage or corrosion, if its not there you cant test it!
Crazy but it all contradicts its self somewhere along the lines.

As for the lights i've got two you can have somewhere in the boxes of bits left over from my rebuild. i'll dig them out tomorrow and let you know. If i find them i'll chuck them in the post if you ping over your address. :ok
