Gap between front seats?

Post by hixsy »

Hey, since I've removed me bench seat out of The front, I now have a nice gap to fill with something, was thinking storage box, with drinks holders on top, maybe a firdge? I dunno yet wat to do and was wondering if any1 has done anything intersting there? Mine has a bulkhead in it, which the cooking unit is fixed too.

I have a Winkler repro. They only come in LHD fitment but can be easily adapted to RHD with a little GRP work.

And they are great because you can cut them to fit stereo gear, gauges, switches, cupholders and more in them.

I need the walkthru in my van so I will be using the shorter version instead. If you want one let me know first, might save you the cost of importing one and I have recessed cupholders to suit too.

Sorry, no pictures of it installed but it's a snug fit.

For an alternative with more flexbility, I got a DAF truck console with cupholders and lockable box in the back.

It screws to the floor (though mine's fixed with velcro - like everything else).

Bit of a winner if you have, or may have, swivel seats at any point.

Chappie at British VW Festival had them....

Hi, I have the photos on my iPhone, but I think I need to set up an online photo thing in order to link to them - is that correct, I've never uploaded photos to here before.

I can't do that as I am at work and they seem to require a software download, therefore I will try to remedy this evening.

Alternatively I could email them to you in the meantime.

Hi, thanks for the App update, works a treat.

See the pics below. The first one (if it's good enough quality) shows the part number and the anchor screw (1 of 3 such holes)
