Electrics not working

Post by iowcamper »

took down the unit that holds my zig unit last week but when putting back up i no longer have any power to it at all?? 12v not working or mains switch or any lights!! have checked all fuses including the inline ones in the batterys tray and have checked consumer units are all on, taking it back down i appear to have a wire labelled 'live vel batt' that is not connected to anything, i can see the aux live in is connected and there is another thicker wire labelled 'spare live vel' and another spare live aux' si i am assuming the live cable from the main battery has come out during the moving about - problem now is where does it go back in - my instincts are saying pop it in the other side of the yellow wire going into the back of the zig but will i cause major damage if this is wrong????
i have tried to upload a pic but cannot get the file small enough (have cropped it a dozen times now!)
there are 3 wires from back of zig unit going into terminal block , white wire goes into no 6, orange into 8 and a yellow to 10, on the other side of terminal block white appears to have a live wire in and orange appears to have a live wire out (going to light?) but yellow has nothing opposite - it this because its an earth ?? if so where on earth could the live vel wire that is hanging spare go????
none of the wires are loose or damaged, the only other problem is the 2 amp fuse on the front of the zig appears loose but on a previous thread someone said that wouldnt stop the power working to the unit so i am assuming it is this 1 wire causing the problem
any help would be appreciated, i have some photos i can email if that helps
