Fresh Air Blower, Wipers and Washer Not Working
Hi, other day started camper and wipers initally would not work but blower was fine though a little sweaky. After 10 min driving all was fine and wipers and washer worked ok. Got in camper today and Wipers, Window Washers and Fresh Air blower all not working, Checked fuses and none found blown though not sure about which relay controls the wiper as it looks different from one in haynes manual -I have swapped the one on the far left (No 21) but no change (Camper is 1986 1.9 Petrol). Any Ideas please gratefully recieved.

check the earth crown behind the fusebox, its not unheard of for the connections there to be at fault under pressure.

Re: Fresh Air Blower, Wipers and Washer Not Working
On the 85 models and earlier for some reason (known only to VW), on cartrdidge fuse models, they wired the damned wipers AND blower to one fuse. Mine is in exactly this state as we speak, with neither working. I know yours is 86 but worth checking fuses as someone may have 'redesigned' fusebox. Otherwise as Mocki says - bad earth.

Thanks for the ideas. Luckily my neighbour has an 1987 1.9 with the same same fuse box. When she got back this morning a swapped over all her relays in the off chance that one might work (only four to change). In the end I found the No 18 relay was not working which is a load reduction relay (fitted at position 8 in the fuse box, haynes manual 12.4 para 3.7B). Thanks for the help and maby this might help someones else.
