paintng laminated units, can it be done?
i have some nice campervan units but they are tatty as "frell", all the catches/hinges etc work great, they are just a crap colour with chipped edges & i want to make them look really smart!
they have a finish like westy cupboards but as i say, tatty, what do you guys/gals recommend? i have some skillz with 2pak car paints i'm open to opinions

that would be a right bonus if i can "sorta" referb the units as they are just a nice size to go behind the seats in my twinslider!
they are not wider than the seat box's one has a grill/hob area with a lift up lid & the other has a small round sink with space for a large water bottle underneath & there is storage space under the grill/hob one too so they are super usable!
i'll have to nip to b&q for a squiz
or is there any other way for refurbing the outside of my units?

could fablon them? I did a quick search and people rub units down with 120 grit and spray um but all say need a very good primer!

I would go for the car paint option.
Use body filler to fill the dents, etc.
Key the surfaces with 400 wet n dry.
Prime and then paint.

Have a google of cupboard door paint or melamine paint. Most of the paint companies do something for this purpose.

Yeah it works really well and once you've put your undercoat and top coat on it's solid but you have to use Meths for cleaning up..Rob
